Safety Training Webinars

CareWorks Consultants/RiskControl360° Safety Training CareWorks Consultants, Inc. (CCI) and our safety partner, RiskControl360°, are offering safety training webinars this summer on a variety of topics. These web-based training sessions allow employers to stay informed about current workplace safety trends and regulatory developments from the convenience of their own office.

While beneficial to all, some employers are required to complete safety training. Employers participating in a 2010 group rating or group retrospective plan who had a worker's compensation claim within the past two years will need to complete two hours of mandatory safety training during the 2010 policy year (ending June 30,2011). This new requirement, adopted by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC), applies to any claim - regardless of size or severity - with a date of injury between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009. The training webinars will be held on the following dates:

July 13, 20 & 27, 2010 (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) Training Topics:

• Keys to Effective Safety Program Management
  Focuses on BWC's 10-Step Business Plan for Safety, a primary component of many BWC programs.
• OSHA Update
  Learn about the top OSHA citations during the last year, trends in workplace injury rates and the new focus of the agency under the Obama administration.
• Accident Investigation
  Developing a comprehensive accident plan, along with the proper tools and documents, to capture the essential information to protect your business.

August 10 & 24, 2010 (2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) Training Topics:

• Violence in the Workplace
  Violence in the workplace has become a more prominent safety and health issue. This session focuses on how to recognize the warning signs and risk factors, as well as provide workplace violence prevention tactics.
• OSHA Update
  Learn about the top OSHA citations during the last year, trends in workplace injury rates and the new focus of the agency under the Obama administration.

Be sure to include your company name, BWC policy number, phone number and the date of the webinar you want to attend. After receiving your request to participate, you will receive instructions by email to register in our webinar system. You must complete the electronic registration process to participate in these webinars. There is a $15 registration fee to participate in the webinar, which will be invoiced following completion of the webinar. BWC Safety Training
BWC also offers training classes that meet the two-hour training requirement.
